So I found this recipe for sliders, but in this house, sliders are fairly impractical. We would just eat them all anyways so why not just make a regular sandwich. I’ve never understood a slider. Who would want a baby sized sandwich if you can have the whole thing. I want the whole thing so I adjusted this to normal sized food and used pork instead of ground meat since that’s what I had and everyone loves BBQ pork. I ate mine with pepper jack cheese just to kick it up a notch, but they are delicious with or without. I made mine in the crockpot so the sauce thinned out a lot. I would suggest simmering down the sauce at the end in a sauce pan a bit if you like them saucy. If you simmer it down to thicken it up, it will work better and not get your bread as soggy. I did not do that the first time, but when we ate leftovers I did and it was much better.
Jalapeno Whiskey BBQ Pork Sammies
2lbs Pork Roast
Salt and pepper
1/2 Onion, diced
1c BBQ sauce
2 Jalapenos, diced and seeded
1. Sprinkles pork roast with salt and pepper on both sides
2. Put a little BBQ sauce on the bottom of the crock pot so that the roast will not stick to the bottom. Put roast in crock and cover with rest of ingredients.
3. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or until pork is cooked thoroughly.
4. Put on bun and devour!
Optional: Pour sauce into a sauce pan and bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until it has thickened to your desire
It looks so good in that pot!
